BlackBerry playbook gets 2.0 upgrade

Nine months ago, reports regarding Android apps support update for BlackBerry tablet surfaced but it took a long time before RIM could actually implement it in real time. RIM to offer four moths trial for BlackBerry music
A day after RIM announced a very disappointing and unsatisfactory financial result and the delay of its next generation operating system, the company is trying to attract more BlackBerry users to try its BBM music sharing service by providing BB users a free trial period of up to four months. Subsequent to the release last Thursday of the dismal financial results for the latest quarter, BlackBerry users can expect a large number of attractive deals and free offers from the company in the coming months as RIM tries desperately to keep its market share and at least remain in the number three position.
Late 2012 launching for next generation BlackBerrys
Research in Motion (RIM) said early Thursday that the new lines of BlackBerry phones will have a delayed launching until late 2012. The new phones are deemed important for asserting the company’s position in the smart phone and tablet market. One of RIM’s co – CEO, Mike Lazirdis said that BlackBerry 10 models will require a highly integrated chipset which will not be made available up until the middle of next year which is also one of the reasons why RIM is expecting to ship them late in 2012. The news about the delay was disclosed during a conference call with analysts.
BlackBerry App introducing new gifting options in time for holidays
Without so much fanfare, Research in Motion (RIM) introduced a beta edition of BlackBerry App World software portal that includes a number of cool and handy new features. The most noticeable is the app gifting which RIM has preempted months before and its timely released is very ideal for the holiday season. With this new app, it is now possible for BB users to request a particular app as a gift from his or her circle of BBM friends. Users can also buy apps as gifts and send it to other BB users using the same procedure.
From BBX to BlackBerry 10
Less than sixty days after Research in Motion (RIM) announced that the new operating system that will revive the BB brand will be named BBX, RIM has suddenly changed it to BlackBerry 10. The name change was due to the restraining order granted by a Federal Court in New Mexico in favor of software maker based in Albuquerque. Basis International claimed that it their company has been using the name BBx for long.
BlackBerry OS 7 advantage
Research In Motion (RIM) declared that their BlackBerry OS 7 offers up to forty percent fast web browsing experience as compared to the previous BlackBerry OS 6. This is largely due to the advanced WebKit browser engine and a number of enhancements introduced to the handsets. In addition to that, the OS platform also features optimized panning and zooming capabilities and an enhanced liquid graphic technology and a highly improved HTML function.
